One Day Redwood Men’s Center Events

A group of men in a line with linked arms.

In addition to the Annual Conference, at least once a year The Redwood Men’s Center hosts A Day For Men, a single day event open to all men of goodwill, to gather in fellowship and community around “the deep well of things as they are.” Here we renew ourselves, harvest our joys, raise our voices in song, grief and gratitude, name our and the world’s challenges aloud and savor the companionship of open-hearted men.

These full day events usually feature stories, drumming, singing ritual and deep sharing. It is open to all men, and especially for those who have experienced the Conference, the One-Day event becomes a cherished chance to reconnect in community with other attendees, and to re-enter the mundane world afterwards, renewed and recharged. For those who have not attended a Conference, this event is a chance to “dip a toe in the water” and experience on a smaller scale a safe place, a safe container, for a man to be who he is without judgement.

Currently, these take place at our new venue, the CYO Retreat Center, a lovely, wheelchair accessible site within a beautiful grove of redwood trees between the small towns of Freestone and Occidental in Sonoma County. Lunch is usually provided, and all proceeds go to the Scholarship Fund for the Annual Conference.

Finally, for your enjoyment, below is Master Storyteller Hari Meyer’s rendition of “Gawain and the Green Knight”, presented at the October 2025 One Day Event.
