TWENTY YEARS OF RENEWAL:
2010 MEN'S CONFERENCE
In
May of this year, men from many places and walks of life will come
together for the twentieth time under the auspices of The Redwood Men's
Center, gathering once again in community, held safely in the
container first fashioned twenty years ago. The Annual Men's
Conference has not stood still during that time, though, and this year
continues the evolution, beginning with a new location and a new date.

A BELOVED ELDER'S BLESSING

Dearest Redwood Men,
I'm sorry I cannot be there with you at this
20th anniversary conference. The limits of old age and the energy
it demands to do even the littlest thing makes it impossible for my body
to be with you, but know that I am with you in spirit always. What
you are doing is essential. It is life affirming, and in the end
it will save us. Of all the conferences I used to attend, I miss
coming to yours the most. A special feeling grew among those
majestic Redwoods for sure and I was fortunate to have experienced it
many times. I understand now that a new location will be the home
for your community. Although the surroundings may have changed the
essence of what you are about hasn't. I know that the story still
beacons, the voices still sing, and the circle still holds true.

PRE-CONFERENCE GATHERINGS
This year for the first time, there will be several Pre-Conference Gatherings to introduce new men (and re-acquaint returnees) to the Conference and the growth that comes from being in community with other men. One of these Gatherings was held in Davis, California the end of January (click here to read about it,) and others are being scheduled for Berkeley and Sebastopol. Our Mission
We at the Redwood Men’s Center recognize the need for men to come together in community to express and explore ideas which restore wholeness to ourselves and Soul to the world. As healing professionals and men of service, we move beyond the limits of traditional psychology with its exclusive focus on ego concerns, by embracing the deeper needs of Soul through mythos and ritual. We provide a container in which to heal the wounds that result from our lost connection with Soul and support men in bringing this healing back to their communities.
